Medical (Clinical) Qigong Courses at the UK College of Medical Qigong now in London and Staffordshire
Our post graduate Medical Qigong Courses are taught at the UK College of Medical Qigong. For everyone interested in Health Qigong for general wellness, our Health Qigong Courses are now taught at the UK College of Health Qigong in Staffordshire and London, UK. There is something in our Medical Qigong and Health Qigong Courses to suit everyone interested in the Chinese Internal Arts.
The Medical Qigong Practitioner Course consists of a Certificate (Part 1) and Diploma (Part 2) level and is aimed at individuals who wish to start a business as a health care professional (similar to an acupuncturist, physiotherapist…) or wanting to use Medical Qigong Therapy as an adjunct to their existing work. The Medical Qigong Practitioner Course advances students to a clinical level. Additionally, if you are a health care Practitioner within the NHS, or a Western/Eastern Acupuncturist, our short courses will enable you to offer Clinical Qigong Prescriptive Exercises in an NHS setting or your private clinic.
What Is The Difference Between Health Qigong and Medical Qigong?
There is a vast difference between Health Qigong, which is a set of exercises used for general health purposes and Medical Qigong. For example, in Health Qigong a typical Spleen exercise would maintain healthy Qi within the Spleen and Stomach. In Medical Qigong, the patients Spleen syndrome could present as a 'Shi' type (Damp/Cold) or a 'Xu' type (deficiency/sinking), in which case the Medical Qigong Practitioner would decide whether to use purgation or tonification prescriptions. Medical Qigong is recognised as one of the four branches of Chinese Medicine - acupuncture, herbal medicine, and tui na being the others. It is considered that Medical Qigong formed the energetic foundation from which the other modalities originated. Medical Qigong incorporates ancient concepts such as Daoism, Buddhism and Shamanism. We therefore evaluate the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body. Medical Qigong as a therapy draws on skills such as incorporating incantations, Qi and Shen emission, Qigong massage, Medical Qigong therapy protocols, prescriptive exercises, meditations and sound therapy.
ADVISE FOR EXISTING STUDENTS: if you are an existing student, holding a Certificate or Diploma from the UK College of Medical Qigong, you will have attended regular CPD. During CPD training, updates highlighting the need for change in our educational programme have been discussed at length and agreed with existing students. Many of you have had your qualifications re-validated in keeping with your contracts where you agreed to attend annual CPD. If you haven't attended CPD, your qualification is no longer valid. Don't worry, we know you are busy and we are aware that it is sometimes difficult to keep up. There is still the opportunity to attend the 're-validation' day on 23rd February 2019. To date, unless you have an updated Certificate issued in 2018, your contracts still stand and remain legally binding! No-one is qualified to attend or instruct any member of the public with a medical condition. No-one is qualified to teach/instruct other insructors or Pratitioners. Thank you for respecting the way we work.
