Confused about the difference between Medical Qigong and Qigong for health and wellbeing?
When you successfully complete our courses you will understand the vast difference between Medical (Clinical) Qigong and Qigong for health which is a set of exercises used for general health and wellness purposes. You will know with absolute certainty, for example, that in general Qigong a typical Spleen exercise would maintain healthy Qi within the Spleen and Stomach. However, in Medical Qigong Therapy, a patient’s Spleen syndrome could present as a ‘Shi‘ type (Damp/Cold) or a ‘Xu‘ type (deficiency/sinking), in which case the Medical Qigong Practitioner would decide whether a purgation or tonification prescription would be more appropriate.
The success of your Medical Qigong Therapy relies on an accurate evaluation so that the correct healing Protocols can be administered. For Eastern and Western Practitioners, you will already be knowledgeable about this process as you already engage in a one to one with your patients.
Medical Qigong is recognised as one of the four branches of Chinese Medicine – acupuncture, herbal medicine, and tui na being the others. It is said that Medical Qigong formed the energetic foundation from which the other modalities originated. Acupuncturists, there is something familiar; almost a spiritual ‘knowing’ that you have walked this path before. Not surprising then, that Medical Qigong incorporates ancient concepts such as Daoism, Buddhism and Shamanism. Use your knowledge to evaluate the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body. Empower your patients to stay well for longer.
I really liked the Ren Wu Zang and the Old Man Healing Sound – it will make me a more effective practitioner.
The Ren Wu Zang and Old Man healing Sounds will definitely help me in my daily Acupuncture work.
Very interesting workshop and I can see how Medical Qigong could be used as an adjunct to Acupuncture.
Fascinating – the visualisation was my favourite as I can see how to integrate it with 5 Element Acupuncture. I will definitely try the Ren Wu Zang as I like the idea of the animals and colours. I will also try the Old Man healing sound as well.
